Website Hosting

We administer our own web servers and are able to provide reliable and flexible web hosting and e-mail packages to our clients. In this we are served excellently with ISP backup expertise by our 'upstream' internet service provider So Internet, a go-ahead and dependable outfit with all the usual secure datacentre facilities and high speed connections to the internet. Thanks to their friendly efficiency and expertise we've cracked many a technical challenge over the years.

We provide a range of website hosting packages on our dedicated server. Specific package details are on the Services price list page. All hosting packages include:

  • Up to 3 MySQL databases
  • Web-based database administration (phpMyAdmin)
  • FTP (File Transfer Protocol) access
  • 99.9% server uptime (Linux operating system with Apache web server)
  • Backups and basic level support
  • E-mail redirects/forwards
  • E-mail auto responders/replies

Mailbox spam protection is an optional extra.

Website Maintenance

Whilst we can achieve high reliability with Joomla! software, the software is sophisticated and the web, regrettably, is far from a benign environment. Maintenance and support are a feature of living with Joomla! websites. From time to time software upgrades are released for core systems and extensions. Essential upgrades relate to security issues, others cover functionality, usability and performance.

Ongoing Support:

Where Joomla! sites are used for 'business critical' purposes we recommend the client sets up an ongoing support arrangement with us which enables us to efficiently provide pro-active and prompt support that ensures maximum website availability. Ongoing support includes: prompt software upgrades, priority telephone support and any corrective maintenance if and when required. Ongoing support costs vary from £50 to £200 per month depending on client website specification and other requirements.

As needed support:

Where a site's functionality is not business-critical we recommend an ad-hoc approach to support where support and maintenance work is charged on an hourly basis following specific authorisation by the client. Security related upgrades are strongly recommended to be done.

Organic search engine optimisation

Having the world's greatest website is no use unless you can drive visitors to your site. We offer search engine optimisation (SEO) for both Joomla! and static brochure websites. While this offers no guarantees of search engine ranking, it provides the best possible framework for Google and other search engines to be able to visit, crawl and cache the pages on your website for listing in their database.

Google Analytics

Google Analytics (GA) is a free service offered by Google that generates detailed statistics about the visitors to a website. A GA account is set up for website Bathcomms provide. Using this we can help you monitor visitor traffic and improve organic search engine optimisation (above) and Pay-Per-Click advertising (below).

Paid advertising

Bathcomms offer a basic Pay-Per-Click (PPC) package in the form of Google AdWords to help get your website noticed by potential visitors. Using Google Analytics (above) users can review and track online campaigns to fufill advertising and sales goals.

More advanced Internet marketing requires specialists with the specific skills to take website promotion to the next level and the time to dedicate to monitoring a website's return on investment and the changing market. We are able to recommend associates with whom we work closely, who can provide this more advanced service.

E-newsletters
